Your sent lingers on me long after you've gone.
I breathe it in

He sings those cliché songs;
Whispers the lyric's softly in my ear

"...The only one for me is you & you for me..."

Holding my small hand he strokes circles with his thumb
Soothing and gentle.
His body towers lovingly over mine

look up
Smile

Red cheeks. He sighs with kept frustration.
Anger is knitted across his brow. Dark eyes glare through long lashes.

Make a fist
Clench. Unclench.

I watch him as he walks away
Hands in his pockets, looking at the ground...
A single tear trickles down my cheek

Turn away
Smile through the pain.
